On 20th February 2024, a working meeting was held between the head of the IHRC, Zhakupov Zh.A., and the Chairman of the Republican Bar Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Bikebaev A.Zh., to discuss cooperation in the field of mediation. During the online meeting, the participants discussed how lawyers and mediators can collaborate, training for mediation competence, negotiation skills for conducting a participatory process, and international internships for lawyers.

The International Economic Forum of the CIS member States took place in Moscow on March 28-29, 2024. The forum's motto was 'From dialogue to joint projects in the CIS, EAEU, SCO.'

The forum consisted of 21 sections, and over 2 thousand people participated. The participants discussed topical issues of cooperation between the CIS countries in logistics, customs, construction, industrial cooperation, migration policy, medicine, tourism, sustainable development, and other areas. The plenary session was attended by members of the CIS Economic Council, the leadership of the CIS Executive Committee, the executive bodies of the EAEU and the SCO.  The Forum was supported by the CIS Executive Committee as part of the action plan for the implementation of Russia's presidency in the Commonwealth in 2024.

During the forum's section on 'The mission of development institutions on the agenda of the CIS, EAEU, SCO', a report on international mediation and the Singapore Mediation Convention was presented by Zhakupov Zhandilda, head of the IHRC. Furthermore, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the forum and the Mediation Center of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

                On March 14, 2024, a round table was organized by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) to discuss the potential benefits of mediation and arbitration in resolving international commercial disputes. The purpose of the event is to provide information to heads and employees of trade missions of the Russian Federation, trade missions, chambers of commerce and industry of foreign countries regarding the potential benefits of utilizing mediation and arbitration procedures for the resolution of international commercial disputes. Additionally, the event seeks to facilitate discussions on potential collaboration with the Mediation Center and the Arbitration Center at the RSPP. During the Round Table, Zhakupov Zhandilda, the head of the IHRC, suggested the idea of a Memorandum of Cooperation to exchange experience, facilitate international mediation, and organize joint events.

On February 21, 2024, a working meeting was held between the head of the IHRC, Zhakupov Zh., and the chairman of the Republican Notary Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Zhanabilova A.B. During the meeting, various issues were discussed, including the interaction between mediators and notaries, the training of notaries in mediation courses, the combination of the activities of notary mediators, and taxation.

In January 2024, an International Online Winter School was hosted by the M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University in Shymkent. The topic of the school was 'Protection of Human Rights in the Context of Globalization: Theoretical Problems and Practical Solutions.' As part of the school, a lecture on the Singapore Convention on Mediation Agreements was delivered by mediator coach Zhakupov J.A.

In July-August 2023, the International Summer School on Mediation organized by the International Human Rights Centre successfully held its first course. The school provided valuable training to mediators from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. The coaches, Tatiana Bilyk (Ukraine), Zhandilda Zhakupov (Kazakhstan), Gulsina Kozhoyarova (Kyrgyzstan), and Fazyljon Otakhonov (Uzbekistan), played an instrumental role in the success of the program. During the summer school, the mediators had the opportunity to discuss various topics related to mediation supervision, mediator emotional competence, and a comparative analysis of mediation legislation in Central Asian countries. Additionally, the training was combined with a recreational program and cultural events on the shore of Lake Issyk-Kul. It is worth noting that the next summer school is scheduled to take place in 2024 in Almaty.
