"International Human Rights Center" (MPC) was established in 1997 by the initiative of 9 national and cultural centers of the Assembly of Kazakhstan People accredited at UNHCR in Geneva.

The president of the organization is Zhangilda Zhakupov Azhigalievich, Chairman of the Board of PA "Reform in the penal correction system", General Director of the Association of Mediators of Kazakhstan, Mediator of the International Center for Settlement of Disputes at the Economic Court of CIS, Academician of International Informatization Academy, mediator and business coach.

The mission of the organization is to provide legal and mediative assistance to socially vulnerable groups of population, individuals and legal entities through legal advices and mediation procedures.

The main activities of the MPC are:

- assistance to the development of democratic processes, building of civil society and constitutional state, implementing and development of mediation institution in Kazakhstan;

- rendering legal, psychological and mediative assistance;

- training of professional mediators, keeping Mediators Register;

-development of projects and programs on the protection of human rights, development of mediation and reduction of conflict in the society; monitoring and analysis of human rights issues;

-extension and strengthening of international relationships on legal and mediation issues.

The Center has a public reception center, where the center's lawyers provide free consultations to socially vulnerable sections of the population on legal issues, with further support as representatives at the Court if necessary, as well as conciliation procedures such as mediation procedures for resolving disputes and conflicts. MPC has a Mediation Center and a Mediator Training School. The International Human Rights Center renders mediators services, maintains Mediators Register, and conducts training of mediators and negotiators. Center's mediators were conducted more than 3000 conciliatory procedures, of which more than 80% werecompleted by conciliation with conclusion ofmediation agreements.

Over 1000 mediators have been trained at MPC Mediator School, who work in all regions of Kazakhstan. Mediators are trained in State and Russian languages per mediator coaches’author's programs according to training standards of European and Russian methods and requirements of Kazakh legislation. By coaches of the school were also developed handouts, methodological guides with sample of documents and catalogues of regulatory legal acts on mediation. Coaches of the center are practicing mediators, who on a regular basis conducts mediations. Coaches-mediators of MPC were trained per supervising mediators.
