In the period from June 17 to 18, 2025, a regional training seminar on ethnomediation was held in the city of Semey. The event was organized for civil servants, employees of akimats, heads of Friendship Houses of districts and practicing mediators active in the field of interethnic relations.
Makat Zhumashevich Shapiev, head of the mediation center "International Human Rights Center for the Abai Region", and Saniya Khairzhanovna Zhaksylykova, curator of the Council of Mothers of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan of the Abai region, took part in the seminar from the Mediation Center.
The seminar was devoted to the issues of ethnomediation as an effective tool for preventing ethnosocial conflicts, strengthening social harmony, establishing constructive dialogue and building a culture of trust.
The participants studied real-life cases, patterns of behavior in crisis and protest situations, personality typology and methods of interaction with various psycho-emotional states of the parties. The practical part included role-playing exercises, analysis of ethnosocial scenarios and development of communication techniques.
The event was held at a high professional level, facilitated the exchange of experience and the expansion of the competencies of specialists. At the end of the seminar, all participants received certificates.
