IX International Mediation Festival
On April 24–25, 2026, the International Festival of Schoolchildren and Students “Mediation of the Future” was held in Minsk, Belarus. The event was organized by the Public Association “Belarusian Republican Union of Lawyers” jointly with the Education Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee and the educational and practical institution “Mediation and Law” Center.
The festival was attended by mediators, representatives of government bodies and organizations, teachers, schoolchildren, students, master’s students, and postgraduate students.
The event was aimed at introducing and developing mediation in the field of education. Within the framework of the festival, conferences, master classes, interactive platforms, creative workshops, and sections for schoolchildren, students, and adults were held on issues related to dispute resolution.
The festival was attended by the Head of MPC, trainer-mediator Zhakupov Zhandilda, and MPC coordinator Zamanbekova Aida.
Next year, the participation of Kazakhstani schoolchildren and students in the X International Mediation Festival is planned.
IX Халықаралық медиация фестивалі
2026 жылғы 24–25 сәуірде Минск қаласында (Беларусь) «Болашақ медиациясы» атты мектеп оқушылары мен студенттердің Халықаралық фестивалі өтті. Іс-шараны «Беларусь республикалық заңгерлер одағы» қоғамдық бірлестігі Минск қалалық атқару комитетінің Білім комитетімен және «Медиация және құқық» орталығы оқу-тәжірибелік мекемесімен бірлесіп ұйымдастырды.
Фестиваль жұмысына медиаторлар, мемлекеттік органдар мен ұйымдардың өкілдері, педагогтер, оқушылар, студенттер, магистранттар және аспиранттар қатысты.
Іс-шара білім беру саласында медиацияны енгізу және дамытуға бағытталды. Фестиваль аясында дауларды реттеу мәселелері бойынша конференциялар, мастер-кластар, интерактивті алаңдар, шығармашылық шеберханалар, мектеп оқушылары, студенттер және ересектерге арналған секциялар өткізілді.

Round Table on Mediation
A round table on mediation was held at the Interdistrict Court for Civil Cases of the city of Semey, with the participation of judges and mediators of the International Human Rights Center / MPC.Mediator Tursunbekov Tleubek Kairbekovich took part in the round table and shared information about the activities of MPC mediators in the region, raised current issues in the field of mediation, and expressed readiness to cooperate with the judicial community on mediation matters.

Founding Congress of Mediators of the Kyrgyz Republic
On March 14, 2026, the Founding Assembly of Mediators of the Kyrgyz Republic was held in Bishkek. The event was organized by the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republican Community of Mediators of the Kyrgyz Republic (RCM), with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The congress was attended by mediators, members of the Jogorku Kenesh, representatives of state bodies and the judicial system, as well as international experts and partners.
The purpose of the congress was to establish the Chamber of Mediators of the Kyrgyz Republic, approve its founding and internal regulatory documents, form its governing bodies, and discuss a strategic step for the legal system — Kyrgyzstan’s accession to the UN Convention on International Settlement Agreements, which would make it possible to recognize mediation outcomes at the international level. The Head of the International Legal Center, Zhakupov Zhandilda, and the Coordinator of the International Legal Center, Aida Zamanbekova, were also invited to participate in the congress. Mr. Zhakupov delivered a welcoming speech and expressed words of support at this historic moment for the mediators of Kyrgyzstan.
At the opening of the event, speeches on the development of mediation in Kyrgyzstan were delivered by K.K. Kazakov, Deputy Minister of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic; Ayten Rustamova, Regional Director of the EBRD Representative Office; A. Solovyeva, UNDP Resident Representative; and Yakup Erikeli, Chairman of the Association of Mediators of the Turkic World.
During the congress, the Charter of the Chamber of Mediators of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Code of Professional Ethics for Mediators of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Regulations on the Council of the Chamber of Mediators, the Regulations on the Audit Commission, and the Development Program of the Chamber of Mediators for 2026–2028 were approved. Members of the Council and the Commissions of the Chamber were also elected.
In the second half of the congress, the topic of Kyrgyzstan’s accession to the Singapore Convention on Mediation was presented in detail by Natalya Borisovna Alenkina, Candidate of Legal Sciences and international expert. During the panel discussion on “Contemporary Challenges in the Professional Activity of a Mediator,” international experts from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Turkey delivered presentations. Aida Zamanbekova, Coordinator of the International Legal Center and trainer-mediator, spoke about the challenges facing mediation in Kazakhstan.

Letter of Appreciation from the Senators of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan
The head of MPC, Zhandilda Zhakupov, received a letter of appreciation on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, signed by the senators of the APK. The letter highlights his significant contribution and active participation in public life, as well as his efforts in developing the Assembly’s activities and strengthening interethnic harmony.
