Profiling Training for Mediators

On August 13–14, a training session for IHC mediators on the topic "Profiling for Mediators" was held, conducted by trainer-mediator and profiling specialist Zhandilda Zhakupov. This training is designed for professional mediators wishing to enhance their qualifications in working with disputing parties, and studying tools and techniques for successful negotiation and dispute resolution.

Profiling is the analysis of a person's psychological profile based on body language, namely: gestures, facial expressions, postures, intonation, and others. The main tools of profiling include:

  • Operational psychodiagnostics (determining a person's psychotype).
  • Lie detection and emotion reading (instrument-free lie detection: via facial expressions, gestures, speech, etc.).

During the training, participants covered the following topics:

Profiling and opportunities for its application.

Personality types and their recognition.

Operational psychodiagnostics.

Study of psychotypes and determining their representational systems.

Basic behavioral models and the limbic system.

Compiling a psychological profile.

Recognition of emotions and managing them.

Macro- and micro-expressions of the face. Facereading.

Language of gestures and body movements.

Main gestures and their decoding.

Verbal communication.

Manipulation and how to resist it.

The art of asking questions, Small Talk.

Investigative interview. Negotiation techniques for a profiler.

Lie detection. Signs of lying, signals of evaluation and deception.
