On November 26, 2024, meetings dedicated to the topical topic of mediation in medicine were held at the Uralsk City Multidisciplinary Hospital. The initiator of the events was the Honorary Mediator of the MPC from Uralsk, Zauresh Akhmetovna Shatikova, who actively shared her experience, answered questions and provided the participants with the necessary materials.

More than 60 hospital staff took part in the first day of the meeting. The participants were provided with handouts, including business cards, flyers and booklets detailing the possibilities of mediation. According to the survey, only 15% of the participants had a general understanding of mediation. However, by the end of the event, each participant had a clear understanding of the process and its benefits, which confirmed the effectiveness of the meeting.

Special attention was paid to practical issues. The participants discussed a real example of conflict resolution related to a medical error that caused significant damage. Thanks to mediation, organized and successfully completed by Zauresh Akhmetovna, the parties reached a compromise, and the conflict was resolved.

Samenova, representatives of the trade union "Senim", "MPO of Kazakhstan" and Akimat of the West Kazakhstan Region held a working meeting with the staff of the hospital. The participants discussed the introduction of mediation in healthcare as an effective tool for preventing and resolving conflicts between patients and medical staff.

The events demonstrated that mediation is an important step in improving the quality of medical care and building trust in the healthcare system.
